Chicagoland’s Best Places For House Hunting

Are you looking for a home in the Chicago area?

If so, the good folks at Curbed have compiled a list of five neighborhoods where homebuying may make sense.

Neighborhood #1: Rogers Park

Rogers Park, located on Chicago’s Far North Side, has a nice supply of pre-war single-family homes and multi-unit walk-ups within walking distance of public beaches and Loyola University.

The neighborhood is convenient to the L and not far from downtown Evanston.

The estimated median home value in Rogers Park is $220,000 which is below the Chicago citywide average of $242,000.

But you may have to hurry up; prices here are on the rise.

Neighborhood #2: McKinley Park

Named Redfin’s “hottest affordable neighborhood in the country in 2019, this

this Southwest Side community, is smack dab in the middle of Chicagoland affordability with average sale prices around $240,000.

Despite a rise in median prices over the past five years, average sale prices are currently down more than 6% since last year. Might be a good time to buy!
